Chantel Shafie
Founder of Chantel Shafie Jewellery
Chantel Shafie is a Hong Kong-based fine jewellery designer known for blending traditional motifs with contemporary design elements to create timeless pieces that resonate across diverse cultures and communities. With her Anglo-Persian heritage, British upbringing, and two decades of living and working in her beloved Hong Kong, Shafie’s designs draw from a rich tapestry of cultures, experiences, and aesthetics while showcasing her commitment to craftsmanship and sustainability.
Shafie began designing fine jewellery in 2010, creating bespoke heirloom pieces and custom bridal jewellery for private clients. She developed The Signature Medallion Collection, which featured international vintage 22k solid gold coins set into diamond medallions in 2020. From this, Shafie went on to create The Chinese Zodiac Series using Hong Kong coins depicting zodiac animals.
This proved so successful that she officially established Chantel Shafie Jewellery in 2024 with the launch of The Eternal Dragon Collection. Shafie has a keen appreciation for elegance and meticulous detail in all shapes, forms, and functions. Her deep connection to art and design is woven into her life at every level and carries through to her design approach.
With her multicultural background and long-held fascination with tradition and symbolism, Shafie crafts visually striking jewellery that honours personal stories and beliefs, and conveys an enduring positive energy. Each collection is a testament to her dedication to preserving traditional craftsmanship, working in partnership with the local community, and honouring cultural significance.
Shafie, whose designs are handmade using ethically sourced stones, is also focused on creating future collections that embody the essence of personalisation to ensure clients relate to and connect with each piece on a deeply personal level. She aims to inspire a connection to the past, ensuring that her jewellery becomes part of the wearer’s personal narratives and is passed down to future generations.
