First introduced by the People’s Bank of China in 1982, the Chinese Gold Panda coin series is among the world’s most celebrated bullion collections. Each year, a new design of the panda, China’s national treasure and a symbol of peace and friendship, is released, making every edition a reflection of its time.

The Chinese Gold Panda Necklace features the 1g Chinese Gold Panda coin (10 Yuan denomination, 999.9 fine gold) set within a design inspired by our Signature Medallion, handcrafted in 18K gold and diamonds by our Hong Kong atelier. It transforms the iconic coin into an elegant piece to wear and keep, honouring a birth year, family story or new beginning.

The obverse presents the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, a symbol of harmony and prosperity. The reverse features the panda, depicted in a new design each year to celebrate renewal and the balance of nature.

Settings for earlier (pre-2016) Panda coins, which used the troy ounce weight system and differ slightly in size, can be made to order on request.

The 2025 edition is available to purchase online. Previous years are available by enquiry.

Customer Care

To ensure the longevity of your Chantel Shafie jewellery, we recommend handling it with care. Avoid applying  perfume directly on your jewellery, and please remove all  pieces before swimming or using hot tubs, as chlorine and  other harsh chemicals can harm the materials and cause  discolouration. 

Each of our ornamental hardstone pieces is hand-cut and  unique, so slight colour variations may occur.
